Arundell HouseEnjoy views right across the river to Falmouth with this historic hilltop house originally built for a Packet Ship Captain. All the family is welcome to this unique and flexible accommodation, including the dog!
Historic and full of character
Don’t miss out on the chance to stay in an historic and characterful home. Originally built for a Packet Ship captain, Arundell House perfectly encapsulates Cornwall’s charm and heritage. The property faces southwest, allowing you to take in the amazing vistas of the harbour and Falmouth town.
The inside is spacious and flexible, offering a selection of rooms for entertaining, storage and home conveniences. Through the attractive front door, you’ll find a cosy snug on the left complete with flat screen TV, open fire, games and books. It’s the perfect place for hiding yourself away and soaking up the peace and quiet.
Perhaps the highlight of Arundell House is the large kitchen/dining area, combining a modern colour scheme with solid wood furniture for an historical feel. A full-height fridge freezer, central island, and dishwasher make cooking a breeze. The dining table is large enough to seat you all comfortably, and if it’s sunny outside, you can go through the French doors out onto the terrace and take breakfast outside.
Throughout the property and surrounding outdoor areas are reminders of its historic past. Once upon a time a groom would have tended to the horses in the courtyard to the rear of the house. Now, it is a great place for sandy children and wet dogs, and for surfers or beachgoers to store their gear. Across the courtyard, you’ll find a handy utility room, and a special haven for the kids: a playroom with flat screen TV, games console and toys.
First floor with views across Falmouth
The first floor sitting room has large sofas and chairs which allow you to enjoy a beautifully framed view through the window of the colourful and bustling town of Falmouth. On the first floor you’ll also find four bedrooms, one with king size double and water views, one with twin singles, another with twin singles and a cabin style bunk bed that the kids will love, and a double bedroom with garden access. The third bedroom features an en-suite shower-room, while the family bathroom has a spacious shower and a roll top bath. All the rooms are decorated with a fresh, clean style, and flooded with natural light.
Secluded sun-trap garden
You’ll find two secluded courtyard seating areas at the rear of Arundell House and steps to a quiet lawned garden. Between them, these areas offer you plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the sunshine, or stargaze at night. A covered pergola gives you the perfect place for alfresco dining, so you can feast on the stunning panoramic views of the harbour, Greenbank, and Falmouth, at the same time as your meal.
Arundell House is a rare find: a spacious historic property with water views, stylishly decorated, and with plenty of room for the whole family. Book now!

We had a fabulous week at Arundell house last week. We all agreed that in the last six years of holidaying in the area it was the best house and location we had stayed in. Once again thanks for a great service.
The Chambers Family
We loved the house and the fact that we hardly used the car as there were so many lovely walks and the Falmouth ferry on your doorstep. The booking process was simple and efficient and the descriptions, photos and floor plans on the website are really helpful. Will definitely be using and recommending yourselves in the future.
