Caradon House is a stunning three-bed property in Flushing boasting a beautiful open plan living room with incredible views over the river to Falmouth and with the added benefit of an allocated parking space. It has been impeccably modernised and extended, offering up to six guests the opportunity to experience a wonderful Cornish holiday in the heart of a quaint fishing village.
The main living space of the property is positioned on the first floor, making the most of the dramatic water views, with two bedrooms on the ground floor and a wonderfully spacious master suite on the top floor.
Approaching Caradon House, guests are greeted with a bold and lively yellow exterior, with crisp white door and windows, all of which are in keeping with the age of the house and add wonderful character. Entering into the property, there is a pleasantly formed front porch, ideal for storing muddy or sandy shoes.
Heading upstairs, guests will find a stunning main living area, comprising of a lounge, dining room and kitchen. This space is beautifully decorated, with crisp white walls and warm wooden flooring. It is modern and contemporary, but clever lighting and soft furnishings create a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. In keeping with the surrounding area of the property, there are subtle nautical hints, with artwork depicting the sea and lifestyle of Cornwall.
The living area is located at the front of the property, with an abundance of seating positioned around a stunning wood burning stove. Ideal for those cooler nights in when guests wish to cosy up by the fire with a large glass of red wine. A large, glass coffee table enables this space to become a social area where guests can sit and play card games on a peaceful afternoon. A large bay window is unarguably the main feature of this space, framing the wonderful views over the river and onto Falmouth. A comfortable window seat means guests can soak in the views and put their feet up with a good book. There is also a wall mounted, flat screen TV so guests can relax and watch their favourite TV shows or movies.
To the right of the bay windows is a door leading out onto a balcony at the front of the property, and this is the perfect spot to share an evening drink, soaking up the warm summer sun. A table and chairs are provided so guests can enjoy a morning coffee or share an evening snack and watch as the sun sets behind Falmouth.
Towards the back of the large living space is the dining area, where a stunning wooden table and six chairs provide a beautiful space to make some memories with loved ones and share a delicious meal together. The large bookcase, with subtle hints of blue ties in beautifully with the theme of the room and a set of French doors open up to fill the room with fresh Cornish air and sunlight.
On the second floor of the property is the stunning master bedroom suite. Complete with a super-king sized bed and with an ensuite shower room, this floor has been dedicated to providing guests with a wonderfully relaxing night’s sleep and a chance to take some time away. Two large windows positioned behind the bed, are a stunning backdrop, with long draping curtains framing the outdoor views. The room has a cool, nautical theme with navy striped contrasting crisp white walls and bed linen.
The ensuite shower room is finished to a high standard with floor to ceiling marble tiles, it has a definite element of luxury. Guests will enjoy spending time here, washing away the day and relaxing before settling down for a comfortable night’s sleep. There is also a large chest of drawers and twin bedside tables providing ample storage for guests’ belongings.
This room also features a balcony. Accessed via a skylight, the space opens up to a lovely area to catch some more of the Cornish sun. Views over Falmouth are a treat and this secluded area is a wonderful spot to watch the town light up over the water.
The remaining two bedrooms are located on the ground floor of the house. Here, a large double bedroom and twin single bedroom provide guests with wonderfully relaxing spaces to bed down for the night and catch up on some rest. The bedrooms follow a similar theme to the master suite, with white walls and navy stripes.
The double room features a set of French doors which lead out to a gorgeous walled garden. Here, beautiful dark wood decking is complimented perfectly by crisp white walls and lush greenery. Soft, outdoor lighting creates a theatrical atmosphere in the evening and there is plenty of seating for guests to relax in front of the water feature.
The third bedroom is an excellent size and makes use of the second, large bay window with a wonderful window seat. There are blinds at this window to enable privacy from the street outside, and soft lighting creates a cosy atmosphere in the evening. There is a large built-in wardrobe for storage, and a wall mounted flat screen TV provides entertainment should guests wish to seek some time away.
The family bathroom is also found on the ground floor. This large, bright room is flooded with light and the marble tiles add subtle texture and elegance to the space. There is a bath and a large walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead. Something to please everyone when they need to relax after a busy day. This room also has a WC and twin hand basins.
Flushing is the picture perfect Cornish postcard setting. With quaint streets lined with characterful fishing cottages, two friendly pubs and an excellent seafood restaurant, guests who are wanting a peaceful and relaxing break can certainly find it here. Toward the other side of Flushing is a well-equipped children’s play park, an excellent space to bring the little ones to burn off some steam. There is also a well-stocked local shop should guests need anything and wonderful views across the bay to Falmouth town. Just a stroll around the streets or down to the waterfront is a tranquil way to spend some quality time with loved ones.
A regular passenger ferry can take you across the water and over to the harbour town of Falmouth, where an array of boutique shops and restaurants await. Guests can explore several art galleries or take time to expand their knowledge of its history at the famous Maritime Museum. It’s easy to explore more of Cornwall from Falmouth, with its excellent transport links to Cornwall’s capital city, Truro via bus, train, ferry or car.
