Located right on the waterfront overlooking all of Falmouth harbour, Nightingale House nestles amongst its elegant neighbours in a row of properties overlooking Falmouth Harbour. From its unique position this stunning house boasts panoramic views across the bay and out to the docks and St Mawes.
The sea views are ever present in this spacious and welcoming house, and can be enjoyed from most rooms. The front door leads into the elegant hallway with access to the garage which guests are free to use. 2 double bedrooms can be found on this floor which share the family bathroom with WC, basin and bath with shower over. Each are furnished with a free standing double wardrobe, large dresser with mirror, glass console table and stool and chaise. Both bedrooms have an iPod docking station and one is also equipped with a flat screen TV
The elegant staircase leads up the first floor living area and into the sitting-room where you are immediately drawn to the French doors that lead onto the wrap around balcony in order to take in the views of one of the finest natural harbours in the world. The sitting room is furnished with three settees and an armchair and enjoys an electric log effect stove along with large flat screen TV and DVD player. Leading off this room is the study which is furnished with a classical style three seater sofa, three armchairs, chess board, desk and bookcase.
The catch of the day can be prepared in the newly fitted kitchen which is equipped with a range oven, dishwasher, microwave and large fridge freezer, French doors lead out onto the balcony with its glass balustrade, rattan settees, chairs and coffee table.
Whatever you choose to prepare to eat the formal dining room will make every meal special and features a large antique oak table and fantastic sea views.
On this floor is also a separate utility room featuring washer, dryer and wash basin
2 further bedrooms are located on the second floor, the master bedroom room benefits from dual aspect windows and views over the garden and harbour and is furnished with a king size bed, two bedside tables, chest of drawers, chaise, walk-in wardrobe, dressing table with mirror, stool and chair and equipped with a flatscreen TV with Freeview and iPod docking station. The en-suite bathroom comprises of a shower, wash basin, mirror, WC and heated towel rail
The second bedroom on this floor benefits from views over the harbour and is furnished with a king size bed, pop-up TV cabinet, two bedside tables, walk-in wardrobe, free standing armoire, dressing table and stool, it also has a flatscreen TV with Freeview and built-in Blu-ray DVD along with an iPod docking station. The ensuite bathroom has a bath with shower over, wash basin, WC, mirror and heated towel rail.
Bedrooms 5 and 6 are located in the mews area of the house. Each have their own ensuite bathrooms with bath and shower over and double beds.
A garden room separates these 2 room and each benefits from large patio doors. Furnished with a two seater sofa, two wing chairs and coffee table and a flatscreen TV with Freeview and Blu-ray player – ideal for when the children want to watch a film!
The enclosed garden has patio furniture and space for 2 cars, there is a garage to accommodate a large car, and there is an additional parking space on the adjacent North Quay. Guests are advised that the parking spaces and garage at the house are accessed via an archway onto the quayside that is 2.2 metres (7 ft 3 ins) wide at mirror height and 2.05 metres (6 ft 9 ins) wide at tyre height. Access through the arch is made more difficult by scaffolding erected around a property undergoing renovation opposite the arch until mid-July. While experienced drivers have negotiated large vehicles through the arch, less confident drivers may find this to be a challenge, in which case a 7 day ticket for the nearby Dell public car park can be purchased for £41.30.
Fal River Links offers many boat trips from Falmouth to Truro, St Mawes and the Roselands Peninsula allowing you to leave the car at home and take to the water.
Nightingale House is a 15-20 minute walk from the Blue Flag Gyllyngvase Beach, a crescent shaped white stretch of sand, ideal for family bathing and watersports.
