Description

Located in the centre of Falmouth, Port House gives you the best of everything, bars, restaurants, and shops right at your doorstep and a short walk to the towns beaches. Located in the historic Bar Terrace with its fine array of stucco houses set high above the road and overlooking the docks, this wonderful four bedroom house puts you at the heart of everything you could wish for. With parking for 3 cars, a covered dining area, a rear garden and front terrace, plus a selection of restaurants and delis, and the town, station and ferries just a short walk away, you’d be hard pressed to find a more convenient house in all of Falmouth!

Up to eight people can enjoy Port House which has recently been extensively refurbished and sympathetically modernised for guests to enjoy. On the ground floor you’ll find an impressive hallway with tiles floor leading to the first of two sitting rooms.  You’ll really love the wooden floor and large bay window. There’s a large television and WiFi for entertainment and large comfortable sofas on which to relax as well as an open fire for when the weather turns chilly.

The second sitting room is ideal for children, teenagers and sports fans with a large wall mounted TV, PlayStation, Apple digital media player and plenty of seating.

Follow the hallway along and you will reach the sociable dining area with a large table seating 8 and a stereo system for atmosphere while gathered around the table. 

At the rear of the house you will find a modern kitchen equipped with a large range oven, dishwasher, large fridge and separate freezer – even a wine cooler and underfloor heating for those chiller mornings!

There is a laundry cupboard housing washing machine and tumbler drier.

Outside is a thoughtful covered seating area with 2 rattan sofas and a table – an ideal space to relax with a good book in the day or perhaps a glass of wine in the evening. A convenient outside toilet is also at hand. 

Steps from here lead up to the rear garden with deck chairs and paved area which in turn leads up to the private parking area.

On the first floor you’ll find four bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a WC all decorated in calming seaside tones.

At the front of the house guests will enjoy the King size wrought iron bed, original hand stripped floor and the large bay window along with plenty of storage space.

The family bathroom features a freestanding claw foot bath, a large separate shower cubicle.

The second spacious and light bedroom has a superking zip and link bed which can be made into two singles if required, cupboard space and a freestanding wardrobe while bedroom 3 has a double bed, a small wardrobe and chest of drawers.

There is a seperate toilet on this floor.

At the rear of the house you will find the final bedroom, complete with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers benefitting from an en-suite  bathroom with walk in shower, large bath and toilet.

Port House is perfectly located to allow you easy access to Falmouth on foot, regular ferries to St Mawes and Flushing, water taxis to beautifully located pubs, scenic coastal paths, and wonderful subtropical gardens. A regular train service links you to Truro and the rest of Cornwall, making it easy for you to explore much further afield.  With a touch of grandeur and a ton of history, this wonderful period property will be sure to delight large groups – one well behaved dog is also welcome!
