The Manacles

The beautiful Gyllyngdune Manor has been converted into an equally beautiful set of holiday apartments. You’ll find The Manacles on the second floor, which can be accessed via a lift, overlooking Falmouth Bay, the Lizard Peninsula, and the Manacles Rocks.

The Manacles is a beautifully presented property both inside and outside. Set among the refurbished Gyllyngdune Manor, the exterior of the apartment oozes character and charm. With lush green gardens surrounding and views over the colourful floral gardens of the Princess Pavillions, this modern apartment enables guests to switch off and really unwind.

Once inside The Manacles guests will be greeted by its calming, neutral decor. White walls and warm wooden flooring in the entrance hall enable this space to feel clean and bright and from here, guests can access all the rooms of the apartment. The main living area is a large open space, featuring a bright and relaxing sitting area, a dining area and open plan kitchen. The decor continues into this space, allowing the apartment to flow effortlessly and pops of blue in the main living space add a subtle nautical reminder of its setting.

The sitting area features a comfortable sofa and set of armchairs, all of which create a cosy area to curl up and watch TV. Free standing lamps enable guests to dim the lighting if a quiet night in is on the cards and guests can have access to their favourite shows on the large feast screen television. Should guests wish to enjoy a moments peace, then there is a good selection of books at hand in the bookshelf and the apartment has WiFi should guests need to catch up with loved ones. However, it will be hard to ignore enjoying the wonderful views from the windows or balcony!

The dining room is positioned perfectly within the middle of this space. With the kitchen area to the rear and the sitting room in front, its the idea spot for a social gathering and spending some quality time with loved ones. There’s enough seating for everyone to get together and enjoy some delicious local produce or even share some time together over games and drinks before heading out into the town for the evening. However, if the warm summer sun is hard proves too tempting, guests can always enjoy an evening on the balcony soaking in the breath taking sea and green views over a cold glass of wine.

The kitchen area is a well equipped modern design with all the necessities for a hassle free holiday. Gloss white units are ideal for reflecting the natural light that floods this room whilst a black tiled splash back offers a contemporary and slick look. The kitchen comes complete with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher so no one is spending too much time clearing up! A washer and dryer can also be found within a useful utility cupboard.

The Manacles features an excellent master suite complete with king size bed and ensuite shower room. The calming decor continues into the bedrooms each providing a tranquil area to rest up at the end of a long day. The warm wooden furniture is a compliment to the decor of the apartment and a large chest of drawers and twin bedside tables provides ample storage for guests to put away their belongings. The ensuite shower room is decorated to a high standard with a floor to ceiling tiles and a large walk in shower. Guests will enjoy waking up to a refreshing soak before the day ahead. There is also a WC and hand basin.

Bedroom two features twin single beds and is continuation of the decor from the master. This delightful room is perfectly formed and the large window enables natural light to fill this space. A free standing wardrobe, set of drawers and bedside table provide further storage space should guests need it.

The family bathroom is decorated to match the ensuite with floor to ceiling neutral tiles providing a warm back drop to a hot, evening soak. There is also an over head shower available and a WC and hand basin.

Gyllyngdune house is set amongst the grounds of the Princess Pavillions and guests will definitely not be disappointed by spending a morning or afternoon strolling amongst the lush greenery. With a variety of plants and a small children’s area, this attraction is ideal for those travelling with younger guests. There is also access to the coastal path the runs along Falmouth bay from Pendennis point to Gyllyngvase beach and on further to Swanpool Beach. Both beaches feature a large amount of water sport activities available for daily rental including surf boards, paddle boards and kayaks.

There is so much to see and do in Falmouth and all within a short walk from the apartment doorstep. Explore the harbour town and its many boutique shops and galleries, stopping to sample a wonderful, traditional Cornish Pasty. Or take the kids to the Maritime museum and brush up on knowledge of the history of the harbour and trade. Falmouth has an amazing selection of restaurants where guests can be spoiled for choice on where to eat. Falmouth has amazing links to the surrounding fishing villages via water ferry. Guests can take a day trip to St Mawes or Flushing, two beautifully quintessential Cornish villages with stunning views over the water. Guests could alternatively, hop on the train from the town centre station and explore Truro, Cornwall’s capital city, where a further array of shops awaits.
