Sailor’s Penthouse is an amazing penthouse apartment in the centre of Falmouth. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, up to four guests can experience a wonderful Cornish escape, complete with a stunning rooftop terrace boasting incredible views of Falmouth Harbour and a private parking space. The spacious open plan living area and the large rooftop terrace make this property unforgettable.
Access to this second-floor property is via a 27 step staircase and once inside, guests are greeted with by a spacious entrance hall which accesses all the rooms of the apartment. To the right is the main living area. A vaulted ceiling with skylights and crisp white walls means this whole space is light and bright – it’s welcoming, and the large double doors at the rear of the room are the focal point. With two leather sofas positioned in front of them, this area was made for relaxing and enjoying the harbour views from the inside.
Warm wooden flooring creates a cosy atmosphere and maintains the clean, modern feel of the room. There is a large bookcase with a wide selection of books for guests to choose at their leisure and it’s a really inviting space for guests to put their feet up and enjoy some peace and quiet. With the double doors open, the wonderful sound of the water and the boats creates a tranquil soundtrack to rest. A large TV is also available for cosy and quiet nights in, when guests want to curl up and watch a family movie.
Stepping out of the double doors, guests will be wowed by the incredible views of the harbour. With a panoramic view of the blue ocean, lush green fields beyond and bright blue skies, this space is the real talking factor of this apartment. It’s spacious and comes complete with an outdoor table and chairs so guests could spend the whole day out here! The sights and sounds are a treat for the senses and on a warm summer’s evening it’s an ideal spot to enjoy a meal alfresco and watch as the sun sets over Falmouth.
The modern kitchen area is located at the rear of the living space. Clean, modern units and black granite worktop, are a minimal style, in keeping with the decor of the room. This kitchen is a real social space, so guests who are cooking up a delicious meal for loved ones can still join in with the fun. There is an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave, so if guests aren’t tempted to sample some of the fresh local produce that’s on their doorstep, this kitchen still has everything they need! There is also a laundry room situated by the front door with a washing machine and tumble drier, so guests have all the necessary home comforts to enjoy their holiday.
The dining area, in the opposite corner of the room, is home to a wooden table and four chairs. A large skylight floods this area with light and this corner of the room is really cosy and inviting, an ideal spot to share breakfast together in the morning.
Both bedrooms are on the left side of the property. The master bedroom is an excellent size and boasts a comfortable king size bed so guests are ensured a peaceful and relaxing night’s sleep. Twin bedside tables provide storage and twin lamps enable guests to settle down with a book before switching off for the night. This room has a restful atmosphere, with crisp white walls and a set of double doors leading onto a Juliette balcony, guests can open these in the morning and slowly wake up to the fresh Cornish air. There is also a wall mounted TV should guests wish to watch a favourite show or movie in peace and quiet. This room also features a large chest of drawers and a wardrobe for storage.
The master bedroom also makes use of a good size ensuite. Fitted with a walk in shower and modern design, it is ideal for guests wanting to freshen up after a busy day exploring on the beach. There is a WC and hand basin.
The second of the bedrooms has twin single beds which can be joined to make a super king. The cool white interior matches the rest of the property and the crisp white bed linen is inviting and comfortable. This bedroom also has a wall mounted TV so guests can wake up at their own pace and catch the latest news or favourite show. There is a chest of drawers and single wardrobe for storing away luggage.
The family bathroom is positioned opposite the second bedroom and is decorated in a similar style to the ensuite. Guests can take a moment to themselves and relax in a hot bath in this clean and contemporary space. There is also a WC and hand basin.
Sailor’s Penthouse is set within the heart of Falmouth, hidden away down one of its many harbour passageways. There is so much to see and do in Falmouth and all within a short wander from the apartment doorstep. Explore the harbour town and its many boutique shops and galleries, stopping to sample a traditional Cornish pasty. Or take the kids to the Maritime museum and brush up knowledge of the history of the harbour and trade.
Falmouth has an amazing selection of restaurants where guests can be spoiled for choice on where to eat. Falmouth has amazing links to the surrounding fishing villages via water ferry. Guests can take a day trip to St Mawes or Flushing, two beautifully quintessential Cornish villages with stunning views over the water. Guests could alternatively, hop on the train from the town centre station and explore Truro, Cornwall’s capital city, where a further array of shops awaits. Falmouth also has an excellent selection of beaches all offering water sport rentals. From surfboards to paddleboards, there are plenty of ways to experience this stunning coastline from the water.
