The Cuddy is a cosy one-bedroom apartment located on the Prince of Wales pier in the heart of the Cornish harbour town of Falmouth, ideal for any couple wanting to enjoy a stunning Cornish break. Steeped with history and offering an abundance of interesting local amenities, a slice of the Cornish lifestyle is hard to resist with this property.
This gorgeous apartment comes with an allocated parking space behind secure electric gates, and it is located on the second floor. Stepping into the apartment guests are greeted by a welcoming hallway providing access to all the rooms, and the private terraced balcony sits at the front of the apartment with oblique views of the water.
The main living area is a large, open-plan space incorporating the sitting room, dining area and kitchen. Large sliding doors fill this space with natural light and the warm wooden flooring maintains a modern and inviting feel. The main living area comprises of two, very good size, leather sofas and a flat-screen TV. Guests could easily make themselves comfortable and sit back to watch a movie or favourite show together
The kitchen area is an excellent size and comes complete with all the necessary features to relax and enjoy the holiday! Modern, neutral cabinets and dark granite worktops reflect the modern interior of the apartment, fuss-free and pleasant to the eye. There is an electric oven and hob, dishwasher and washer dryer so guests will easily feel at home when enjoying a meal in the apartment.
The dining space is a wonderfully sociable area to settle down and enjoy morning coffee, discussing the plans for the day ahead. With four chairs, there’s plenty of room for splashing out on ingredients for a delicious breakfast, and with plenty of local produce on the doorstep, this is easily accessible. Down lighting over the table enables guests to create a cosy atmosphere in the evenings for sharing a romantic meal together or there is always the option of dining alfresco on the balcony.
Stepping through the sliding doors, a spacious balcony with table and chairs awaits guests and the stunning panoramic views of the harbour are hard to ignore. This is a wonderful space for relaxing at the end of the day, watching the sun slowly set and the boats gently bobbing on the water.
The bedroom is a good size and comes complete with a king-sized bed, ensuring guests a restful night’s sleep. The calm neutral tones of the decor create a tranquil space that’s inviting and relaxing. Boasting more views over the harbour and on towards Flushing village, this room is a wonderful space to wake up in, with the gentle lapping of the water as the soundtrack to the morning. Guests will also find a wall-mounted TV should they wish to catch up on the morning news and enjoy a coffee in bed. There is also a large wardrobe and twin bedside tables providing storage.
The tiled bathroom is a modern and contemporary space. With a bath and overhead shower, there is something to please everyone. This room also comes complete with a WC, hand basin and heated towel rail, so stepping out of the bath should be a little more inviting.
Guests are advised that The Cuddy is a second floor apartment accessed via a double height staircase. The passenger lift at this development has been decommissioned, and it is therefore unsuitable for those with restricted mobility. The convenient town centre location does mean that on occasion some background noise may be audible.
Falmouth is an excellent choice when it comes to visiting Cornwall. There’s so much to offer and something to please everyone, it promises an exciting or restful holiday. The town centre is steeped in history, and guests could enjoy a trip to the famous National Maritime Museum or Pendennis Castle to learn a little more. There is an excellent array of shops, boutiques, restaurants and galleries in the town, so there’s plenty to explore and occupy the day and evening. A variety of water sports is on offer from the local beaches, Swanpool and Gyllyngvase both provide wetsuit, surfboard and paddleboard hire, so guests could venture out and experience the rugged Cornish coastline from the other side!
Falmouth also provides excellent links to the surrounding towns and cities. Truro is just a fifteen-minute drive away and from here, guests can travel further into Cornwall via train. Sea ferries run regularly from the local piers in the town centre and promise a fun day out in Flushing and St Mawes.
With so much to offer and with it all on the doorstep, The Cuddy is an excellent base to call home for a wonderful Cornish break!
