Description

Anchorstone is a truly unique two bedroomed apartment located within a beautiful Grade II listed, waterside building. Situated at the head of the Penryn River, Anchorstone provides guests with the perfect location to explore and relax in the South West.

The apartment makes excellent use of the space within the building and upon entering, guests are greeted with a large, bright hall with access to all rooms. With engineered oak flooring and underfloor heating, guests are instantly met with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. At the rear of the property is the large, open plan living, kitchen and dining room. The exposed, original beams and stonework are a real wow factor within this space and create character and charm. The light wooden flooring and white walls bounce the light that enters the room through the large floor to ceiling doors and windows.

The kitchen is a perfect spot to unwind. Gather family and friends around the large central island and reflect on the adventures of the day or plan for tomorrow. Or share a wonderful meal together at the dining table and watch the night draw in through the large double doors. The kitchen has a large oven, microwave, tall fridge freezer and a dishwasher. There is also under counter lighting to create a cosy and warm atmosphere.
The lounge area boasts a large sofa and relaxing armchair. Guests can sit back and relax in front of a movie after returning from a delicious tapas meal at The Muddy Beach Cafe in Jubilee Wharf. Just a minute walk from the apartment and with stunning views over the Fal estuary, its a no brainer as to a location to soak in the Cornish summer sun.

The master bedroom has a beautiful king size bed so guests can truly get a good nights sleep. The exposed stonework continues in this space as a feature wall and provides character and texture. Both of the bedrooms have a large frosted glass wall, enabling light from the living area to fill these spaces. Each has vertical blinds so guests can shut off this space and relax. There is also a good size fitted wardrobe and underfloor heating. The master bedroom also has access to a wonderful en-suite shower room with a large walk-in shower. The modern decor makes the room bright and the perfect space to wash off any sand brought back from the Cornish beaches. There is also a W/C and wash basin.

The second bedroom has two single beds and a large walk-in wardrobe. An original beam is also exposed within this room and adds texture and dimension to the clean, crisp interior. There is also another frosted glass wall allowing bags of light to fill the space.

The family bathroom is situated to the right of the second bedroom and has a large bath, heated floor and towel rails, and ambient lighting. Relax and unwind with a large glass of wine and switch off from the world in this wonderfully, modern space.

Parking is available for one car in a garage located within the development – this is not suitable for large cars or SUVs

Penryn is a truly exciting spot to escape to, with several intriguing boutique shops and amazing links to Truro and Falmouth via train and bus. Falmouth is just a short drive away and offers guests the chance to explore further into the historic, marine setting of this harbour town and is home to the National Maritime Museum. Sea ferries depart from its docks daily, linking guests with access to the quaint villages of St Mawes and Flushing. If guests are after a slightly more active break, then there are loads of water sports activities available from Falmouth’s beaches, including surfboard and paddleboard hire.

Anchorstone really has a lot to offer, both within its walls and its setting. With lots of character and beautifully modern touches, ensure everyone will be thrilled with this stunning coastal escape!

Anchorstone is in a brilliant spot. Being right on the water at the head of the Penryn River made it feel calm and tucked away, yet everything we wanted to explore was close by. A great base for exploring Cornwall while still feeling like a proper retreat.

This is one of the most thoughtfully designed holiday apartments we’ve stayed in. The open-plan living space is stunning, with loads of natural light and gorgeous original features. The kitchen was a joy to cook in, especially with the big island where everyone could gather. Both bedrooms were very comfortable, and the master en-suite was excellent after long beach days. Stylish, cosy and practical all at once.

The kids loved the twin room and we appreciated how quiet and secure the development felt. Parking in the garage was handy for our smaller car. Easy access to beaches, ferries and days out in Falmouth made it a perfect family base.

Anchorstone has a really special feel to it. The combination of exposed stone, soft lighting and the waterside views makes it feel incredibly peaceful. Evenings spent cooking, opening the doors and watching the light fade over the river were a highlight of our trip. The bed was super comfortable and the bathrooms felt hotel-quality. A brilliant place to slow down and unwind.

Everything we needed was provided, and it felt like real attention had gone into making it a special place to stay. Penryn is a lovely area with great transport links, and being so close to Falmouth and the ferry routes was a huge bonus. We left already talking about coming back.
