Description

Turning Tides is a beautiful first floor apartment positioned within a peaceful development just a stone’s throw from the centre of Falmouth town. With reserved parking and plenty to offer right on its doorstep, a Cornish escape here promises not to disappoint!

As part of the beautiful Gyllyngdune Manor built by Reverend Coope in 1840, this stunningly renovated apartment is steeped in history and is a delightful setting for guests to take some time away and relax. With room for four guests, it’s ideal for small families or a gathering of friends to explore Cornwall.

Upon entering Turning tides, guests are welcomed with a large entrance hall that provides access to all the rooms within the apartment. To the right of the entrance hall is the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Decorated to a really high standard, with warm neutral tones, modern wood furniture and subtle hints of colour, this space is really inviting. The large windows and double doors leading onto the balcony mean this room is flooded with light, making it bright and refreshing. The lounge area offers a comfortable sofa and arm chair, positioned around a coffee table. It’s a comfortable, social space to spend time together. There is a flat screen TV for evenings when guests wish to curl up on the sofa and relax in front of a good movie, and a selection of throws provide warmth should the evenings turn cooler.

The kitchen is an excellent size and is a beautiful soft grey colour. It’s warm and inviting, and guests could happily enjoy cooking up a delicious meal together here. There is an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer providing all the home comforts and a relaxing experience away. Set around the dining area and balcony doors, guests will find this an equally social space, sharing a delicious meal, or evening drinks out on the balcony.

The bedrooms are located to the left of the entrance hall and the master bedroom features a delightful ensuite shower room. This room is cool and calming and a really good size. With a Super-king-size double bed, guests can easily enjoy a restful night’s sleep, catching up on some much needed hours ahead of a day exploring. There is plenty of storage on offer with a large chest of drawers and built in wardrobe. The ensuite has a large walk in shower and is bright and modern.

Bedroom number two has two single beds and continues with the warm neutral tones throughout the apartment. The large window provides lots of light, so guests can wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. The subtle nautical theme that runs throughout the bedrooms, with artwork depicting the sea, and the hints of blues, are a gentle reminder of the wonderful Cornish surroundings of the property.

The family bathroom provides guests with the chance to relax in a hot bath at the end of the day and is a cosy space to escape and experience some quiet time. There is an overhead shower should guests wish to freshen up in the mornings and a heated towel rail provides an element of luxury.

Gyllyngdune Manor is positioned within the grounds of the Princess Pavillion Gardens. Offering a wonderful backdrop of lush green gardens and a beautiful array flowers, guests will find it hard not to escape into this wonderful tropical haven. With an onsite cafe serving delicious food and a children’s play area, there’s plenty to keep everyone occupied should guests wish to stay close to home. Falmouth is a traditional Cornish harbour town, and for guests wanting to learn a little more about its historic past, there’s plenty of attractions.

The Maritime Museum is both interesting for adults, and with ever changing exhibits for children, it promises to entertain everyone. Pendennis Castle and Point is another fantastic day out! Falmouth also provides an array of shops, galleries, bard and restaurants, and with the famous Rick Stein’s Fish restaurant a ten minute walk away, guests won’t be stuck for places to experience some local delicacies. Head through the Pavillion gardens and guests will find themselves along the coastal front, with Pendennis Point to the left and Gyllyngvase Beach to the right. Here a fabulous selection of water sports are on offer with surf boards, paddle boards and kayaks all available to hire.

Whatever holiday is planned, Turning Tides is easily a perfect location to experience it all. With plenty on its doorstep and nearby Flushing and St Mawes just a picturesque ferry trip away, this holiday will be one to remember!
