Quay View

Quay View is a cosy, traditional style terraced property boasting bags of character and modern features. Positioned within the quiet village of Flushing, it’s ideal for up to 5 guests wanting to slow down the pace and get out and experience the Cornish landscape.

Entering the cottage, guests will find a welcoming hallway, traditional to the style of property. Located to the left of the stairway is the access to the main living and dining area. This large front room has been renovated into a free-flowing space, with wall mounted electric radiators and traditional fireplace it’s a cosy and inviting room for guests to spend some time together. A three seat sofa and two armchairs provide ample seating for guests to gather around and cosy up by the open fire. Cooler evenings can be enjoyed here, coming together to watch a favourite movie or show on the large flat-screen TV.

The large window provides pleasant views over the quaint village quay and enables natural light to fill this room. There is a cosy window seat that makes a wonderful reading spot or a place to simply enjoy a cup of tea and watch the boats go by. The subtle nautical theme that runs throughout this room is a pleasant reminder of the stunning location of the property and the cool blue tones are relaxing and calming.

Stepping through the arched doorway, guests are led through to the dining area with a large wooden table and chairs. Positioned in front of the large back window, this good sized area is light and bright. The original flooring and doors add character and age to the cottage and this area is ideal for sharing breakfast together ahead of a new day.

Continuing along the hallway and down a step, is the modern kitchen. This room has everything guests will need to prepare and cook delicious meals and with plenty of local seafood on offer in the village, guests can enjoy experimenting with fresh, local produce.

Stepping through the back door, guests will find the quaint courtyard garden complete with table and chairs. With cream walls surrounding the courtyard, this space is ideal for enjoying some time in the Cornish summer sun, sipping a cold drink and making the most of the peaceful surroundings.

There is a laundry room located within an outbuilding housing a W.C. and wash hand basin, washing machine and tumble drier.

Upstairs are the three bedrooms and family bathroom. All decorated in crisp whites with stripped pine flooring and subtle pops of colour, the bedrooms are inviting and restful rooms. The master bedroom is positioned toward the rear of the property with views overlooking the courtyard garden. A double bed ensures guests will enjoy a relaxing nights sleep and the cosy cottage interior is welcoming. There is also a wall mounted smart TV, large built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers meaning guests can hide away any of their belongings.

The second bedroom is home to two wooden, 3ft single beds. The large window provides pretty views across the harbour and an exciting sight to wake up to. There is a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table for storage and a radio for guests to catch up on the news in the morning.

The third bedroom is cosy and makes the most of more stunning water views, looking out over the harbour and onto Falmouth.  This room has a 2’6″ bed.

The family bathroom is at the rear of the cottage and has finished with crisp white walls and tiles and blue laminate flooring. The decor is in keeping with the rest of the rooms and the bath is inviting for guests who want to enjoy a hot soak at the end of the day. An overhead shower is ideal for those wanting a refreshing start to the morning. There is also a WC, hand basin and heated towel rail.

Flushing is the picture-perfect Cornish postcard setting. With quaint streets lined with characterful fishing cottages, two friendly pubs and an excellent seafood restaurant, guests who are wanting a peaceful and relaxing break can certainly find it here. Toward the other side of Flushing is a well-equipped children’s play park, an excellent space to bring the little ones to burn off some steam. There is also a well-stocked local shop should guests need anything and wonderful views across the bay to Falmouth town. Just a stroll around the streets or down to the waterfront is a tranquil way to spend some quality time with loved ones.

A regular passenger ferry can take you across the water and over to the harbour town of Falmouth, where an array of boutique shops and restaurants await. Guests can explore several art galleries or take time to expand their knowledge of its history at the famous Maritime Museum. It’s easy to explore more of Cornwall from Falmouth, with its excellent transport links to Cornwall’s capital city, Truro via bus, train, ferry or car.

Quay View is a wonderful, character cottage, with cosiness and peace and quiet at its heart. It’s ideal for those wanting a slower pace to a breakaway, enjoying the rugged Cornish coast line and all it has to offer!

All parking in Flushing is on-street and free of charge. We usually manage to park just outside or very close by, and as a last resort there is unlimited parking at the end of the village by the sailing club or on the hill leading into the village, a 3 or 4 minute walk at most.
