Fish Hoek

Fish Hoek is located in a row of pretty, traditional fishing cottages in the picturesque fishing village of Flushing.

Stepping into the property guests are greeted with the light and cosy sitting room. The cottage has a wonderful home from home feel and the large corner sofa truly allows guests to sit back and relax. With the wood burner lit, the soft lighting from the lamps and a movie on the TV, guests can cosy up and enjoy this space feeling relaxed and rested.

On the other side of the wall and situated at the back of the cottage is the kitchen dining area. The kitchen is charming and quaint and is fitted with everything guests could need to enjoy a comfortable break. Fitted with cream, shaker style doors and wooden worktop, the modern kitchen compliments the age and character of the cottage. Guests can cook a wonderful meal for everyone to enjoy and share it at the adjacent dining table. With subtle hints of blues and artwork that depicts the nautical setting of the cottage, the kitchen and dining area are a really unique and cosy space.

At the rear of the property and accessed through a door from the dining area, guests will find a peaceful garden. Arranged over several levels, this tiered outdoor space is the ideal setting to sit and unwind. There is a bench at the top end of the garden, where guests could sample a glass of wine and enjoy the warm summer evenings. The grass, gravel, and decked areas provide texture and depth and offer a wonderful backdrop for the greenery.

The second floor can be accessed via the staircase positioned in the centre of the cottage. The master bedroom is positioned at the front of the property and features a king-sized bed and plenty of storage in the form of twin bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a large wardrobe. Ample space for guests to hide away their luggage and relax and enjoy a good nights sleep. The white walls are consistent throughout this property and enable the light to bounce around. There are overhead lamps positioned above the headboard so guests can curl up and read a book before switching off for the night.

The second bedroom features twin single beds and is positioned at the rear of the property with views onto the garden area below. There is a large chest of drawers for storage and the nautical theme is continued into this space with the soft blue furnishings.

Also on the second floor is the family bathroom, situated between the bedrooms and therefore, easily accessible. The large window allows light to flood this room and the blue tiles are in keeping with the rest of the property’s nautical theme. There is a shower positioned over the bath so guests can wake up and feel refreshed for the day ahead or soak away and relax after a day of exploring. Wooden flooring runs throughout the second floor and helps to make the whole level feel like one big space.

Flushing is the picture perfect Cornish postcard setting. With quaint streets lined with characterful fishing cottages, two friendly pubs and an excellent seafood restaurant, guests who are wanting a peaceful and relaxing break can certainly find it here. Toward the other side of Flushing is a well-equipped children’s play park, an excellent space to bring the little ones to burn off some steam. There is also a well-stocked local shop should guests need anything and wonderful views across the bay to Falmouth town. Just a stroll around the streets or down to the waterfront is a tranquil way to spend some quality time with loved ones.

A regular passenger ferry can take you across the water and over to the harbour town of Falmouth, where an array of boutique shops and restaurants await. Guests can explore several art galleries or take time to expand their knowledge of its history at the famous Maritime Museum. It’s easy to explore more of Cornwall from Falmouth, with its excellent transport links to Cornwall’s capital city, Truro via bus, train, ferry or car.

Fish Hoek provides couples or small families with the perfect Cornish retreat. Set within a quiet and peaceful village but never too remote from the hustle and bustle of neighbouring harbour towns, guests can be sure to enjoy a break that ticks all the boxes!
