Description

The Corner House is a stunning, two-bedroom cottage located in the heart of Flushing. The original features of the cottage are beautifully complemented by the modern finish and character oozes from every room. The newly rendered exterior, with crisp white walls and large windows, are an attractive first impression and guests will not be disappointed once stepping inside.

Entering through the front door there is a cloakroom, ideal for guests to take off their sandy shoes before stepping through to the main living area. The large downstairs space of this cottage is open plan, with a cosy lounge area, modern kitchen and adjacent dining room.

The main living space is bright and inviting, with a large sofa and am armchair. The decor of this space is calming, with white walls and refreshing tones of deep blues. The use of natural stone and wood add texture and warmth to this space, ensuring guests enjoy spending time here. The large windows flood the room with light and provide a pretty backdrop for guests taking a moment to enjoy a quiet cup of tea in the armchairs. The wood burning stove is the main feature in this room, so on cooler evenings guests can all gather around the fire and watch their favourite show on the SMART TV. There is also ultra fast fibre optic broadband

Positioned behind the living area is the stunning kitchen where sleek, white cabinets invite guests to enjoy spending time cooking some delicious food. The breakfast bar, complete with four modern stools, is a lovely feature and a place for guests to spend some time together at breakfast, discussing any plans for the day ahead. With fresh produce right on the doorstep, this kitchen is ideal for experimenting and cooking with local fish caught the same day in the harbour. The large window fills this area with natural light and is home to a pretty view of the courtyard garden, where should guests wish to enjoy some more of Cornish summer sun, they could dine alfresco on the table and seats outside. The kitchen comes complete with an electric oven and hob and a dishwasher, so guests won’t be needing to spend too much time cleaning up! There is also a washing machine to keep on top of any laundry that needs washing after a fun day at the beach.

The dining area is accessed via two steps, leading down into this bright and welcoming space. Cosy evening meals can be shared here, private from the rest of the cottage and guests can watch as the sun sets through the double doors that lead out to the courtyard garden.

The courtyard garden is a wonderful feature of the character-filled cottage. Enclosed by white walls and surrounded by lush greenery, this space is abundant with charm and texture. A table and chairs provide guests with a beautifully idyllic spot to sit down and enjoy the long summer evenings, soaking up all of the Cornish sunshine.

The staircase leading to the upper floor of the cottage is found within the sitting room and leads guests up to two beautifully maintained bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom is a superb size and guests will be sure to settle down amongst the crisp white bedsheets on the king-size bed. This room is light and bright and oozes charm and cosiness. There are twin bedside tables and a wardrobe for storing away luggage, so guests can truly switch off and relax in this space. The master bedroom also features a luxurious en-suite with shower, WC and hand basin.

Bedroom two features twin single beds and is ideal for anyone travelling with younger children, this room is also relaxing and refreshing. The large window comprises of views out onto the pretty pastel streets below.

The second bathroom is located across the hall from the second bedroom and is another indulgent space to relax and unwind. Here guests can enjoy taking a minute to themselves in the free-standing shower. There is also a WC and hand basin.

The Corner House welcomes two dogs.

Flushing is the picture-perfect Cornish postcard setting. With quaint streets lined with characterful fishing cottages, two friendly pubs (including the fabulous Harbour House) and an excellent seafood restaurant, guests who are wanting a peaceful and relaxing break can certainly find it here. Toward the other side of Flushing is a well-equipped children’s play park, an excellent space to bring the little ones to burn off some steam. There is also a well-stocked local shop should guests need anything and wonderful views across the bay to Falmouth town. Just a stroll around the streets or down to the waterfront is a tranquil way to spend some quality time with loved ones.

A regular passenger ferry can take you across the water and over to the harbour town of Falmouth, where an array of boutique shops and restaurants await. Guests can explore several art galleries or take time to expand their knowledge of its history at the famous Maritime Museum. It’s easy to explore more of Cornwall from Falmouth, with its excellent transport links to Cornwall’s capital city, Truro via bus, train, ferry or car.

The Corner House provides couples or small families with the perfect Cornish retreat. Set within a quiet and peaceful village but never too remote from the hustle and bustle of neighbouring harbour towns, guests can be sure to enjoy a break that ticks all the boxes!

Just a note to say how lovely our weeks stay in The Corner House has been.
When we arrived we were delighted with the property as it was spotless,well fitted out and in a super part of Flushing.  We have stayed in Flushing before so knew our way around and thoroughly enjoyed our week visiting The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Minack Theatre to name two trips and also watched the bunting being put across the streets of Flushing for the regatta which is happening later this month.We would certainly use your company for out next choice of Holiday home.

I’d like to take this opportunity to say what a lovely stay we had in The Corner House in April. It’s such a beautifully decorated property in a very friendly village. It has such a homely, cosy feel. It was so nice to be greeted by tea and scones; what a lovely touch. A true home from home.

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday.  The house was really lovely and comfortable and spotlessly clean. We have been to Flushing a number of times but only to park and do our favourite walk on Trefusis Head, so it was even more enjoyable being able to walk from the house & also enjoy the village amenities!!

Have just got back from another great week in Flushing where we stayed at Corner Cottage.  Lovely house, very clean and homely with a welcoming layout.  When we got there the aerial had blown off courtesy of Storm Dennis.  We contacted the agents on a Sunday afternoon and were called direct by the owner the next morning arranging to get it fixed.  Couldn’t be more helpful, hope to stay there again soon!
